Classes & Shows
Carol teaches at conventions, including IDAL (SALI), Creative Painting Las Vegas and SDP,  and is a guest instructor at decorative painting and stenciling chapters nationwide.  She has a comfortable style of teaching that brings students back to her classes year after year.  Her background as a free-hand decorative artist has enabled her to create her own style of stenciling and faux finishing, and she uses all three to combine a class that is loaded with information, including the history of the art involved in the class.

MEMORY BOXES We stenciled boxes for the program at HOOT

In June, 1998, three painters in California realized that in area hospitals there were many bereaved parents of infants lost to miscarriages or early deaths.  When these families lost their newborn infants, they went home with no child in arms and only a few precious keepsakes given to them by the nursing staff, usually in a paper or plastic bag.  They initiated hand painting MEMORY BOXES and information was shared via the internet.  Today, hospitals in the USA, Canada, England, Italy and Germany participate HOOT became involved in 1998 when membership voted to make this one of the chapter's philanthropic projects.

For more information about the MEMORY BOX PROGRAM, contact  co-chairs Linda Ranck shepaints@columbus.rr.com or Kathy Fellows - kfellows01@sbcglobal.net
